Franciscan Connection
"Secular Franciscans, therefore, should seek to encounter the living and active person of Christ
in their brothers and sisters, in Sacred Scripture, in the Church, and in liturgical activity.
The faith of St. Francis, who often said 'I see nothing bodily of the Most High Son of God
in this world except his most holy body and blood,'
should be the inspiration and pattern of their Eucharistic life."
-- Rule of the Secular Franciscan Order, Ch. 2 #5

THIRD ORDER : SECULAR FRANCISCAN ORDER
St. Clare Region Mission Statement
We, the Secular Franciscans of the St. Clare Region, believing in the charism of St. Francis of Assissi,
will follow in his footsteps, center our lives in Christ and bring alive His Gospel to the best of our ability,
under the circumstances in which we live.
We will enfold all the fraternities in our Region as our brothers and sisters,
and we will cooperate in every way to grow closer to each other and to our entire Franciscan family.
Through prayer and action we seek to bring about the kingdom of God,
being faithful to the life and mission of the Church and to the study and practice of our Rule.
Together, and as individuals, we will strive to minister to each other,
and to all who cross our paths with prayer, acts of kindness and charity.
We will initiate and cooperate to bring about social justice and family values,
to promote care and protection of the environment,
to emphasize outreach to youth,
and to advocate better working and living conditions
so that all will come to see and know the love of God.
As Franciscans we travel this journey together
in joy, peace, simplicity, and humility
-- celebrating God in all of creation and in each other.
